The Surface Vault
Quick and easy access to a single asset
The Surface Vault provides a small secured monitored storage enclosure. Storage options include SmartFob, Key, or Direct Entrapment Key. The Surface Vault products provide a secure, monitored asset position located in a locking enclosure that can be mounted on a wall or other suitable structure. Controlled and monitored by an existing access control system or SAM, the vault securely stores a single asset and includes sensors that provide indication of door state and asset presence. When access to the asset is desired, the system is used to unlock the cabinet.
Theory of operation
This solution enables remote monitoring and control over a single asset. It fits a wide variety of applications including emergency access and control, on location, for convenience.

- ·Can connect to an access control system, fire panel, SAM, or any device with a remotely operated relay that can provide sufficient power.
- ·Mechanical release after unlocking ensures the door remains closed until the user is ready to access the interior.
- ·Time out period after unlock or access granted. The unit locks again if unopened for the time out period.
- ·Door sensor for remote indication of cover open or closed.
- ·Asset presence sensor for remote indication of asset in or out.
- ·LED illuminates to indicate when unlocked or access granted.
- ·Mechanical key override for asset access should power fail.
- ·No external fasteners to reduce the risk of tampering.

In practice
Wherever a single key has to stay in a fixed place and be monitored remotely: an emergency key at the entrance, the lift key, the key to a meter cupboard or a plant room. The vault has no software of its own and connects to the system already in place.

Two models
Two Surface Vault models are available: the Key Only model and the Key Ring model.
Key Only model
Direct entrapment via an interchangeable core.
Key Ring model
Cam lock, fob or direct entrapment via an interchangeable core. The key ring allows for up to fifteen keys. Loose access card possible.
