Key rings

The key stays on the bunch.

Sealed keyrings in solid stainless steel and flexible steel wire. Crimped with a tool — after that released only by cutting the ring.

Five fixed sizes.

From one to four inches, measured as the internal diameter. How many keys fit depends on their thickness; the figures below are for standard building keys.

Three tools.

Press closed, crimp, open. By hand, without power or settings. For the stainless steel keyring the closing and crimping tools are the minimum.

01 Press closed. The ring goes into the notch for its own size and is pressed closed until the ends meet.

02 Crimp. The closure is fixed permanently and becomes perfectly smooth. After that the ring can no longer be opened by hand.

03 Open. The only way to open the ring again: cut through it at the closure.

Perfectly smooth once crimped.

No protruding edge, no seam for a key to catch on. The ring can be used all the way round and opens only with the cutting tool.

Two tools.

The flex keyring has its own crimping and cutting tools: one to squeeze the closure shut, one to cut it open again.

01 Crimp. The closure is squeezed around both ends to a smooth finish, usable all the way round.

Flex keyrings

Five fixed sizes.

The same range of sizes as the stainless steel keyring, from 1 to 4 inches. The braided cable flexes, and once crimped the pressed closure is smooth and usable all the way round.

Four models.

Three U-models for a handful up to a full bunch, and a round model of 8.5 cm. The same hub fits every model.

Only the crimped stainless steel and flex keyrings are sealed: they make it visible whether the bunch has been tampered with.

Frequently asked questions about key rings.

• Can a key ring be opened again? {{ pfIcon0 }}

  That differs per version, and that is exactly the point. The stainless steel keyring and the flex keyring are crimped and afterwards open only with the matching cutting tool — so an opened ring is always a visibly opened ring. With the Rivet keyring the rivet has to be broken. The Morse keyring clicks shut by hand and can be reused. The flexible coated ring has a screw closure that opens to change keys: handy with a changing layout, but not intended as a seal.

• How does the numbering work? {{ pfIcon1 }}

  Three versions carry a serial number: the stainless steel keyring and the flex keyring have the number stamped into the steel and use the same numbering system; on the Morse keyring the number is on the hub, and every hub has its own number. So the number belongs to the ring itself and not to a label that can fall off — which keeps the bunch of keys traceable. The Rivet keyring, the flexible coated ring and the separate steel wire set do not have a serial number. The comparison sets out what you get per version.

• Which size do I need? {{ pfIcon2 }}

  There are five fixed sizes, from one to four inches. How many keys fit depends on the thickness of those keys, so no fixed number can be given. If in doubt: print the product sheet at actual size and lay your current ring on it. With a quotation we will look with you.

• Do I need tools? {{ pfIcon3 }}

  For the stainless steel keyring, three: pressing closed, crimping and opening. By hand, without power or settings. The flex keyring has its own crimping and cutting tools, two pieces. The Morse keyring closes by hand and needs no tools. There is also a starter kit with rings, tools and ID sleeves in one case.

• Does the ring damage the lock or the key cabinet? {{ pfIcon4 }}

  Once crimped the ring is perfectly smooth: no protruding edge and no seam for a key to catch on. For situations where a thinner ring is needed, or where locks and surfaces have to be treated extra gently, there is the flexible ring with a plastic coating.
